The city of Noto in Sicily turned up out of the blue. It was almost like you were passing on a lonely highway and you sight a film set of an old city and you learn that its actually all real. Noto doesn’t follow the script of a typical Italian ancient city – as all its ancient tales are buried deep within. The well-planned new city with its several churches and palaces was rebuilt in the early 18th century after a major earthquake completely gutted down the old town. The town was built and is still inhabited by rich agricultural traders who made handsome profits from just being in a strategic and fertile Mediterranean island. If you plan to visit Sicily check out the stylish Gagliardi Boutique Hotel located right in the middle of it all.
