What is of interest to me is how the Sikh came to be a trusted & reliable insider.
I am intrigued by the journey of migrants who are scattered around the world and become insiders in the most secretive places.
Whether it be the FBI today or the Imperial British – the Sikhs have always commanded their employers’ trust and respect and evoked the fear on the other side.
The Sikh Diaspora has spread all over the world, thanks to the British recruiting them as soldiers and deploying them all over the world.
In colonial Hong Kong, the British would not trust only the Sikhs with firearms, and in Singapore, they were feared as the police.
When their terms in the army ended, they settled wherever they were in the Commonwealth and took to farming, soon becoming the largest producers of fruits, vegetables, and cheese in California, Canada, Australia, and Italy.
Not only as farmers, but they are also successful in every occupation they choose.
I have always been a great admirer of the Sikhs for being so industrious, lively and courageous.
